The Uttar Pradesh T20 League returns for its second edition, starting on August 25, 2024. Following a successful inaugural season, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association is set to host the league from August 25 to September 14.
This year’s tournament features six teams: Lucknow Falcons, Gorakhpur Lions, Kashi Rudras, Kanpur Super Stars, Meerut Mavericks, and Noida Super Kings. The competition will follow a double round-robin format, leading into the playoffs.
The league stage will run from August 25 to September 9, consisting of 30 matches. The playoffs, which begin on September 11, will include four matches, culminating in the grand final on September 14.
Venue and Schedule
All 34 matches of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League 2024 will be held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Suresh Raina, the former Indian captain, has been appointed as the brand ambassador for this edition.
The Kashi Rudras, the reigning champions, won the inaugural title last year under the captaincy of Karan Sharma by defeating the Meerut Mavericks in the final. These two teams will kick off the new season in their opening game.
Apart from August 25 and September 9, the rest of the league stage will feature double-headers. The first match of the day starts at 3:30 PM IST, and the second at 7:30 PM IST.
